  • The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has chalked out plans to set up an indoor liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Amaravati next year.

H-Energy brings India’s first FSRU at Jaigarh port

  • Hiranandani Group’s energy arm H-Energy Gateway Private Ltd. launched India’s first floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU)-based LNG (liquefied natural gas) terminal at Jaigarh port in the State.

Power Grid sets Capex Target of 25,000 Crore for 2018-19

  • Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has signed Memorandum of Understanding for the year 2018-19 with Ministry of Power, Government of India.
  • Capex target for the year has been set as Rs. 25,000 crore.

Indian-American woman appointed interim civil court judge in NYC

  • Indian-American Deepa Ambekar has been appointed as interim judge to the civil court of New York City, becoming the second Indian-American woman judge in the city.
  • In 2015, Rajeswari was sworn in as a criminal court judge, becoming the first India-born woman to be appointed a judge in the city.

New snake found in Western Ghats

  • The snake, currently observed only in the forests of the Anaikatty hills in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore district, has been named Uropeltis bhupathyi, after the late herpetologist S. Bhupathy, for his contributions to the field.
