Maharashtra To Revise Eligibility Criteria For Admission To Engineering. The government of Maharashtra may revise the admission eligibility and rules for technical and vocational education in the state along with engineering and other courses as stated by the minister for higher education Uday Samant. He took to his twitter handle to inform the students about the government’s plans for the education system in Maharashtra.
- The Maharashtra State Government will soon revise the eligibility criteria and other admission rules for the engineering and other technical vocational courses with an aim to provide the students in the state with better opportunities to study within the state. Maharashtra State Higher Education Minister Uday Samant stated that the decision is being taken in the best interest of the students in the state.

- The Education Minister added that the eligibility criteria and rules for the admissions to the engineering and technical vocational courses in Maharashtra will be revised with an aim to help the students of Maharashtra. The changes in the admission and eligibility rules will provide the students with more opportunity and in this way, more students will be able to secure an admission in the state
- Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the Maharashtra government had previously decided not to conduct final exams of professional and non-professional courses. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting him to instruct regulatory bodies like All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) endorse state government’s decision.
