Madras High Court Job Age Limit:

For the post of Judicial Member, the applicants must have attained the age of 40 years to be eligible. And for the post of “Member”, candidate must have the age of 35 years to apply.

Madras High Court Recruitment Qualification:

The candidates, who are applying for the Judicial Member post and others, must necessarily know to read, write and speak Tamil. To apply for the post of ‘President’, the candidate has been/ is/ is qualified to be a ‘District Judge’. For the post of ‘Member’, the applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University

Madras High Court Eligibility- Experience:

The aspirants with the experience of at-least 10 years as Presiding Officer of a District Court or of any Tribunal at equivalent level or combined service as such in District Court and Tribunal are eligible to apply for the post of ‘Judicial Member’. To apply for the post of ‘Member’, the candidates should have the experience of not less than fifteen years in consumer affairs, law, public affairs and others.

Madras High Court Job Application Fee:

A Demand Draft for a sum of Rs.1,000/- should be drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar General, High Court, Madras’ and shall be enclosed with the application to apply for the ‘Judicial Member’ post. The same amount of fee should be paid for other posts at the time of online application.

Madras High Court Selection Process:

The selection of the candidates for this recruitment will be done as per the following manner with respect to the post they want to apply for.

For Judicial Member:

  • The Selection will be made on merit, based on the performance of the candidates in the viva voce to be conducted by the Selection Committee to assess their suitability, record of past performance, integrity and adjudicatory experience. If there is large number of applicants, the candidates for viva voce will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5 or such other ratio as may be determined by the Selection Committee.

For the President and Member Posts:

  • There will be a written examination for 75 marks and viva-voce for 25 marks for the President and Member posts. The written Examination consists of 75 multiple choice objective type questions. The question papers will be in bi-lingual i.e, in English and Tamil. This exam will take place for 2 hours for 75marks.
  • 30 marks are qualifying marks for this phase. After this, viva voce will be held for the shortlisted candidates. The object of the viva-voce test is to assess the suitability of the candidate, for judging their mental alertness, general knowledge, clear and logical exposition, and others.
