Local Holiday Has Been Announced On May 31 By District Collector: The Karur district collector Mr. T. Prabhushankar has announced a local holiday for the district people on May 31, 2023, to celebrate the Mariamman temple vaikasi (Tamil Month) festival. Upon the announcement of this news, the district people are become happy and eagerly waiting to celebrate the festival.
Every year this festival was celebrated massively and it will be celebrated for around 10 days and the most important event of the festival is the “Kambam festival”. During that festival, people will descend the Holy Stick into the Amaravathi River as a part of rituals.
