Freedom Fighters of Karnataka – Men and Women

The indomitable fighters of Karnataka showed at an early period that they had inherited the daring tenacity of Indians  to drive the Britishers out of India through prolonged resistance and persistent struggles of all forms.The social and religious reformation of 19th century brought the National awakening among the Indians. Then the reformers awakened the mass to go against the Britishers’ cunning administration.The influence of Gandhiji in the freedom movement of Karnataka totally changed the scene in the Indian National Movement.

Gandhiji in the year 1920, travelled throughout Karnataka and he propagated the Non-cooperation movement The Kannadigas contributed in all the ways possible. For instance, the women folk gave away their ornaments and many more Kannadigas resigned their government jobs. Flames of  Indian national movement grew indestructibly strong, and there upon laid the foundation of some of the famous freedom struggles whose major contributors have been listed down below.
