As the spread of 2 nd wave of corona continues to increase in Tamil Nadu, the Government of Tamil Nadu is taking various measures to control the spread.
In Tamil Nadu, the government is giving importance to the Coimbatore district to take corona prevention measures as the Coimbatore district is most affected.
Vegetable, fruit and flower market stalls are being set up at the Coimbatore market for the essential needs of the public. Traders are allowed to operate shops till 12 noon.
At present, in collaboration with the Chennai Corporation, local bodies and trade associations, mini vans, autos, tricycles and other mobile vehicles are being sent to the area to sell vegetables and fruits to the public.
Every day, more than 3,000 vehicles transport vegetables and fruits to homes and apartments in Chennai and its suburbs. Koyambedu, the name of both the locality here and the market, is one of the biggest in South India, that vends vegetables, fruits and flowers, catering to the general public, wholesalers and retailers as well.
In this situation, the store management board has announced that the market will function as usual on the next day (Sunday), the day of the weekend, to accept the request of the merchants.
Commenting on this, Officer Govindarajan said For the convenience of the general public, we are currently supplying vegetables and fruits directly to households at affordable prices on a daily basis. Retail traders will be scanned to check body temperature.
This has been well received. The number of vehicles supplying vegetables is increasing day by day as per the demand of the public. Due to this, the Coimbatore market will function as usual on the 30th (Sunday).
