Karnataka SSLC, PUC Combined Under One Board – State Assembly Passes Bill!! The Bill passed by State Assembly to merge SSLC and PUC courses under one board in Karnataka state. Accordingly, the Karnataka Board of Secondary Education Examination (Amendment) Bill 2022 (KSEBB) will be merged with PU Education Department and renamed.

The bill was passed by the state assembly regarding this on September 22. Earlier the Karnataka State Board of Secondary Education Examination (KSEEB) and Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) of Karnataka State were merged and functioned as a single body. This board will be renamed as Karnataka School Examinations and Evaluation Board.

Henceforth the board will conduct PUC exams 1st and the 2nd year in addition to the 10th SSLC exams in Karnataka. Karnataka School Examination and Evaluation Board will conduct the other public examinations. Meanwhile, under the new board, the post of Director of Mass Education is to be reinstated as chairman and the state assembly has proposed an expenditure of Rs.2 lakh per annum.
