Karnataka Government to Extend 2% Sports Quota in All the Jobs – says CM Basavaraj Bommai!!! The honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka state, Basavaraj Bommai recently announced that the government has planned to extend 2% Sports quota in all the government departments. At present, police and forest departments have been providing 2% quota for sportspersons in the state of Karnataka.
This offer is going to extend in all the government department. On regarding this Bommai spoke at a function organized by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports to felicitate medal winners at the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham. He stated that in the felicitation, the notification regarding the extension of sports quota in government jobs up to 2 percent will be approved soon by the government.

He also mentioned that, the steps will be taken to encourage sportspersons and provide them protection across the state. Moreover, sports competitions will soon started in rural areas to discover the sports skills among the youth in the next two months, he added.
