Karnataka Cab Drivers and Workers receive Rs. 2000 as Corona Relief Fund – Chief minister BS Yediyurappa announced – The complete Curfew was declared in the State of Karnataka for over 2 weeks. The curfew was imposed from 10.05.2021 to 24.05.2021 due to rapid spread of 2nd wave of corona virus. More than 50,000 people was affected for corona virus in a single day. And death rate also rises to 200 per day.
During the lock down period many peoples who were working as constructions workers, auto and taxi drivers lost their jobs. For more than one month they don’t have any valid income to run their family. So, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced that Construction workers auto and cab drivers will receive Rs. 2000 as corona relief fund. And all unrecognized sector workers such as barbers, petty shop owners, porters, mechanics and others in unorganised sectors will receive Rs. 2,000 as one-time assistance.
Other than that Karnataka Government also announced that the flower growers will get Rs 10,000 per hectare and fruits and vegetable growers will get a maximum assistance up to Rs 10,000 per hectare. Families who applied for BPL cards not yet received and family who have BPL cards will receive free food grains for May & June.
Karnataka state government also postponed the due date of the payment of instalments of loan availed by farmers and self-help groups and farmers groups for until July 31. Karnataka Government also announced corona relief project worth Rs. 2,650 crores.
