The latest report suggests that the IT services sector in India will witness an addition of over 3.60 lakh jobs in the first quarter of this financial year. The report suggests that the industry will see an addition of around 12 percent more employees in the second half of the year, compared to the first half.

The hiring of freshers and experienced tech professionals is in full swing in the Indian IT industry in 2022. All the major tech giants including TCS, L&T Infotech, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant, Infosys, etc. are constantly looking for tech professionals.

The founder and CEO of UnearthInsight, GauravVasu said, “The IT industry’s perceived ‘war on talent’ is real and it’s getting intense with attrition a rising concern for the industry. It’s crucial for the industry to focus on employee value proposition (EVP) even more aggressively to keep attrition in check”.

Leading IT businesses in India are stepping up their efforts after announcing plans to generate millions of new jobs early this fiscal year. The IT sector’s growth has improved, particularly in the third quarter of this fiscal year. In the meanwhile, leading IT firms have altered their recruiting targets. More than 30 companies, mostly in the Indian IT sector, have employed between 350,000 and 3,60,000 additional workers so far though.

This is 14-18 per cent of the total workforce of top IT companies. Of this, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has provided employment to 77,000 new entrants this financial year. Similarly, Infosys added 41,000 to 42,000, Cognizant 33,000, HCL 15,787, Capgemini 17,000 and Wipro 14,000 to 15,000. In that sense, the number of jobs rose to 22.3 percent in the quarter from 19.5 percent in the previous quarter.

The growth of 15 to 20 Indian IT businesses with strong GCC and captive technology development is currently driving the market. In the current third quarter, cloud practises in Indian IT services organisations have increased by 20 to 30%. For Indian IT businesses, more software items and websites have produced $ 5 billion in income. TCS alone brought in almost $ 3 billion in income. This accounts for 12-15 percent of the entire income of the firm.

By 2030, the software product and platform business could generate $15-20 billion in revenues for top-tier IT services firms, according to Unearthinsight.
