JEE Advanced 2020 Notification – Registration, Exam Date & Admit Card. Admission into various undergraduate programs (see 2. ACADEMIC PROGRAMS) across IITs is through the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced).The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2020 and the subsequent admission process to the IITs shall be governed by the rules contained in this document, read in conjunction with the Business Rules of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (to be published separately).
Indian nationals who wish to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2020 must write B.E./B.Tech. paper of JEE (Main) 2020 which will be held in the month of January 2020 and April 2020. Further information about JEE (Main) 2020 may be obtained from the website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Eligibility
All Indian nationals must simultaneously satisfy each and every one of the five eligibility criteria. All the candidates must simultaneously fulfil each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2020.
Registration will be cancelled if, at a later date, it is found that the candidate does not meet any of these five eligibility criteria.
Criterion 1 – Performance in JEE (Main) 2020: Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000* successful candidates (including all categories) in B.E./B.Tech. Paper of JEE (Main) 2020. The percentages of various categories of candidates to be shortlisted are: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and the remaining 40.5% is OPEN for all. Within each of these five categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.
Criterion 2 – Age limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, Five years relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1990.
Criterion 3 – Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
Criterion 4 – Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2019 or 2020 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Criterion 5 – Earlier admission at IITs: A candidate should NOT have been admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past. Candidates whose admission at IITs was cancelled after joining any IIT are also NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2020.

Schedule of JEE (Advanced) 2020
The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2020 will be conducted by the IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2020. The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs. The decisions of the JAB 2020 will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) 2020 and admission to IITs.
The examination consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours duration and will be held as per the following schedule:

Both the papers are compulsory. The exam will be held in fully computer-based test mode.
The schedule will remain the same even if the day of examination is declared a public holiday.

- Candidates who successfully registered for JEE (Advanced) 2020 can download the admit card from the online registration portal: https://jeeadv.ac.in
Admit card downloading schedule – Tuesday, May 12, 2020, 10:00 IST to Sunday, May 17, 2020, 09:00 IST
The admit card will bear the following details of the candidate: Name, Roll number for JEE (Advanced) 2020, photograph, signature, date of birth, address for correspondence and category.
MODE OF EXAMINATION
The JEE (Advanced) 2020 examination will be conducted only in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
