JAM 2022 Eligibility:
The aggregate marks without rounding‐off should be at least 55% for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates and 50% for SC/ST and PwD category candidates to eligible for this examination. This eligibility is necessary to apply for JAM 2022.
JAM Exam Details:
JAM scores will be used for admission to M.Sc. (Two-Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.S. (Research)/Ph.D. Dual Degree M.Sc.‐M.Tech. Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at IITs. JAM score will be used by IISc Bangalore for admission to Integrated Ph.D. programmes. JAM score will also be used by other centrally funded technical institutions. This examination is a Computer Based Test (CBT) that will be held on online mode only.
JAM Application Fee:
- For paper 1 the Female and SC/ST/PwD candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs 750/- and all other category candidates should pay the application fee of Rs.1500/-
- For paper 2, the Female and SC/ST/PwD candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs.1050/- and all other category candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs.2100/-.
- A candidate can appear for either one test paper or two test papers by paying an additional fee
JAM 2022 Exam Pattern:
JAM 2022 Test papers will be filled with objective type question, as follows.
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ),
- Multiple Select Questions (MSQ),
- Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
There will be 03 hours to attend the examination. The questions will be displayed in only English language. There will be 60 questions in this exam for 100 marks. For each wrong answer to 1-mark questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted and similarly for each wrong answer to 2-mark questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted.
JAM 2022 will have seven Test Papers, namely, Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). There will be three sections in the exam. They are
- Section–Acontains a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Section–Bcontains a total of 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQs)
- Section–Ccontains a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT)
