Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Mission Piped Water Supply!! Tap Water Supply Provided To More Than 5.44 Crore Homes In 28 Months Under Jal Jeevan Mission!! Additional Secretary & Mission Director, National Jal Jeevan Mission, Mr. Shri Bharat Lal talk about the responsibilities of media on today in a event of national media interaction, which was organized by UNICEF in New Delhi.

Important role of media in creating awareness and community engagement for providing tap water supply!!

 He said that, media has the very big responsibility in the case of spreading awareness about the Jal Jeevan Mission and in engaging communities to own, operate and manage their village water supply system for regular and long time clean tap water supply in poor families in the rural area.  On 15th August, 2021, in the celebration of the Independence Day of the country, Prime minister talk about the policies like Jal Jeevan Mission benefits of the scheme must reach to everyone and ‘no one is left out’.

The Prime Minister also said that, “We have to move ahead with a mindset of cent-percent achievement. When the Government operates with a target to reach the person in the last line, only then there is no discrimination and there is no scope for corruption.”

 Shri Bharat Lal demand the media officials to make people aware of different things of clean tap water and help in making Jal Jeevan Mission a JanAndolan in the believe recognize of media as an important partner in delivering Jal Jeevan Mission’s community-oriented messages to provide tap water, improve health and provide ease of living to rural population especially women and children in rural India.

By the policy of Jal Jeevan Mission, priority is accorded to water-scarce areas, quality-affected villages, Aspirational districts, SC/ST majority villages and Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) villages. The tap water supply to JE-AES affected districts has gone up from 8 lakh (3%) households to 1.19 Crore (39.38%) households and in aspirational districts it has gone from 24 lakh (7%) households to 1.28 Crore (38%) households. now 8.33 lakh (81.33%) schools and 8.76 lakh (78.48%) Anganwadi centers have been provided tap water supply in their premises. Currently, each and every household in 83 districts and more than 1.28 lakh villages have been benefited by this policy.
