ISRO Announcement of Opportunity 2021 – For utilizing Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter Payloads data for scientific analysis. Indian Space Research Organization has launched the “Announcement of Opportunity” (AO), for seeking proposals towards scientific analysis and utilization of data from all experiments of the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter. The ‘Announcement of Opportunity’ invites all the researchers, irrespective of their background. They can be from recognised academic institutions, universities, colleges, planetaria, and even government organisations.
- Last Date to Submit Application: Candidates are advised to apply before 31.10.2021. Application received after the last date will not be considered.
- According to ISRO, Chandrayaan-1 data had been extensively used by Indian researchers to understand lunar morphology, surface age determination, and composition of the lunar surface, studies on the possible presence of magmatic and exogenic water.
- Project Duration: The project is planned to be completed in three years. All scholars from accredited academic institutions, universities, colleges, planetaria, and government entities in India are welcome to participate in the AO.
- ISRO Eligibility Criteria: Each project intern may work for up to 6 months and be in their final year of M.Sc/M.Tech. Individuals or groups of scientists and academics from national institutions, universities, colleges, planetaria, and government entities in India may submit proposals.
- The project intern is to be used only for Chandrayaan-2 payload data analysis. ISRO may provide limited funding support (up to Rs 10, 000 per month) to the project intern as stipend.
How to Apply for Appointment of Opportunity?
- Proposals should be limited to around 10 pages in length on standard A4 size paper, typed double-spaced and in the prescribed format. Two hardcopies of the proposal prepared as per the formats given below.
