Important Schemes of July 2018:

‘Sambal’

  • Madhya Pradesh government has launched an outstanding power bill waiver scheme and subsidized power scheme ‘Sambal’ for labourers and poor families.
  • Under the scheme, the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families would be provided electricity at a cost of 200 rupees per month.

‘One farmer one transformer’ scheme

  • To reduce electricity losses, the Maharashtra government will launch a new scheme allocating “one transformer per farmer”.
  • Two lakh farmers will be given electricity connection for high voltage distribution line which will ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018

  • The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation launches the Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 (SSG 2018) in the New Delhi. A nationwide survey of rural India to rank the cleanest and dirtiest States and districts on the basis of qualitative and quantitative evaluation.

Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao: MP Government to appoint girls as district Brand Ambassador

  • In Madhya Pradesh, in a first of its kind initiative, the state government will appoint girls as a district Brand Ambassador who has recorded significant achievements in any field under the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme.

‘I am not afraid of English’ programme

  • Haryana launches ‘I am not afraid of English’ programme for primary school students. The initiative aims at capacity building of teachers to enable them help students to read, write and speak in English right from class 1.

SevaBhojYojna

  • The ‘SevaBhojYojna’ is a Central Sector Scheme under which Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) and Central Government’s share of Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) paid by Charitable Religious Institutions on purchase of specific raw food items shall be reimbursed to them as financial assistance by the Government of India.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0

  • The Government has successfully launched Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0. The UBA 2.0 was officially launched on 25thApril, 2018 in AICTE, Vasantkunj with the vision of transformational change in rural development processes.

Samagra Siksha

  • The Department of School Education and Literacy has launched the Samagra Shiksha – an Integrated Scheme for School Education as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme with effect from the year 2018-19.

“Mission Satyanishtha”

  • “Mission Satyanishtha” launched on 27th July 2018 aims at sensitizing all railway employees about the need to adhere to good ethics and to maintain high standards of integrity at work.

Swachhta Pakhwada

  • Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), Oil & Gas CPSEs celebrated Swachhta Pakhwada fortnight with full zeal and enthusiasm from 01stto 15th July, 2018.
  • Main Theme – “Innovation” and “Sustainability”.
