Zagir Hussain Birth Day

Birth:

  • He was born on February 8, 1897.

Honours:

  • He was the Third President of India, from 13 May 1967 until his death on 3 May 1969. An educationist and intellectual, Husain was the country’s first Muslim president, and also the first to die in office.
  • He previously served as Governor of Bihar from 1957 to 1962 and as Vice President of India from 1962 to 1967.
  • He was an excellent academic and talented administrator in the field of education.

Awards:

  • The Government of India honored him with the Padma Vibhushan award in 1954.
  • In 1963, Bharat Ratna was awarded with the country’s highest award.
  • He has been awarded with literary genius from Delhi, Calcutta,Aligarh and Cairo.

Death:

  • He died on May 3, 1969.

Dmitri Mendeleev Birthday

Birth:

  • He Was Born on 8 February 1834.

Honours:

  • He was a Russian chemist and inventor.
  • He formulated the Periodic Law, created a farsighted version of the periodic table of elements, and used it to correct the properties of some already discovered elements and also to predict the properties of eight elements yet to be discovered.
  • He attempted to sort chemistry elements based on their properties and created the first auditory table based on the atomic masses of the elements.
  • This was submitted to the Russian Chemical Association on March 6, 1869.

Awards:

  • In 1861 he published a book on spectroscope. This book earned him the Demidov prize of the Petersburg Science Academy.
  • In 1865 he received a Ph.D. for the study of alcohol synthesis.

Death:

  • He died on 2 February 1907.
