IIM CAT 2022: 11 per cent in overall Registration Increased this year.IIM Bangalore, the organisation that oversees the Common Admission Test (CAT), reported an increase in applications for the IIM entrance exam of roughly 11%. In 2021, there were about 2.3 lakh applications, a little rise from 2.28 lakh in 2020.

The IIM Bangalore asserts that the rise in applications is the result of “enhancements” the institution made to the outreach and registration procedures for the CAT 2022.

According to IIM, digital advertisements were launched for the first time to raise awareness about the opening of CAT 2022 applications and the lengthening of the deadline in order to attract a younger and more specific audience.

“Student-centric improvements would strengthen the registration and other processes of CAT, allowing the applicants to focus on preparation for the examination itself,” CAT 2022 Chairperson Prof. Ashis Mishra remarked.

CAT 2022 Outreach in North East

The Northeast and all of the union territories published CAT 2022 announcements, according to the IIM. The Northeast (Manipur, Tripura, etc.) and union territories (Lakshadweep, Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Ladakh, and Leh) have also received test centres.

150 test cities across the nation will host CAT 2022 exam centres. Candidates can choose any six exam cities, in any sequence, according to their preferences. Additionally, this year, CAT 2022 was given access to two payment gateways. Typically, only online payment methods are accepted.

On the CAT website, a non-IIM registration option is available this year. To increase their visibility, non-IIM institution logos have also been included to the CAT website. On November 27, there will be three separate sessions for the computer-based exam. The CAT 2022 will evaluate verbal aptitude, reading comprehension, dta interpretation, logical thinking, and quantitative aptitude.

According to Prof. Ashis Mishra, there is still ongoing COVID-19 confusion in the preparations and administration of the exam. The decisions and instructions periodically given by the Central and State governments, as well as IIMs, affect the information supplied on the CAT website. Candidates are encouraged to often visit the CAT website for the most recent information.
