ICSE 9th 11th Results 2020. Supreme Court directs CISCE to adopt CBSE’s re-assessment option for students who have failed Class 9 and Class 11 in the Board. With this decision, Class 9, 11 students will get another chance to pass the exam.
Indian Certificate of Secondary Education, ICSE has received a notice from Supreme Court to adopt the CBSE’s re-assessment option for students who have failed Class 9 and Class 11 in the Board. The option was given by CBSE in view of the COVID19 pandemic on May 13 for students of both the classes so that they can pass the exam.
The order was given by a bench of justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari, and Sanjiv Khanna today for the plea filed by a minor petitioner of Class 9 through Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava.
The plea as per Bar & Bench’s report states that
If the ICSE does not adopt the resolution adopted by the CBSE on May 13, then many 9th and 11th grade students will be deprived of the right to equality as guaranteed under Article 14 of the Constitution.
The petitioner further had requested the court that since there is a delay on the part of the ICSE to adopt the CBSE notification of May 13, the petitioner may be directly promoted to Class XII, especially since COVID-19 infections are on the rise.
On May 13, CBSE had issued a notice in which it had decided to give an opportunity to all the failed students of 9th and 11th to appear in a school-based test again. The Board had decided that these students would get another chance irrespective of whether or not they have completed the exam.
