Health Insurance Rates by age in India Increase by state. Health insurance or medical insurance or also known as medical aid in South Africa, is a type of insurance that covers the whole or a part of the risk of a person incurring medical expenses. The state Odisha has low improvements in the number of householders under health insurance policy. Odisha has low rank in this observation while comparing to the other states India like Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh.
The health insurance policy, Biju Swasthiya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) , introduced and run by the state odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as an alternative policy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ayushman Bharat health insurance policy. This policy Biju Swasthiya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), is only available for the people of odisha state. Now the state government of odissa has increase the health insurance cover to 0.2 %.

This decision of the odisha chief minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik is become the result of low rank of odisha in number of householders under health insurance policy while compared to their neighbors like west Bengal , Andhra Pradesh etc., Despite implementing the Ayushman Bharat since Jan 2020, the coverage count in the State has dropped to around 70% in 2020-21. So to increase that policy user’s odisha government take this action.
