Happy News For Employees!!! EPFO Extends The Last Date To Apply for Higher Pension Scheme: The Employees Provident Fund Organization compiled with the Supreme court verdict and planned to increase the pension for employees who have retired before September 1, 2014, under the Employee’s Pension Scheme (EPS). Now the organization has extended the last date to apply for the higher pension scheme.
EPFO released a press release on 13.03.2023 which states that the last date to apply for the higher pension scheme has been extended to 03.05.2023. This is also applicable to employees who retired before 01.09.2014 and continued their work. The previous last date to apply is 03.03.2023; this date has been extended because the previous application of the retired employees has been rejected.
The SC said that the employees who have retired before 01.09.2014 and exercised their work can also be eligible to apply for a pension on higher wages. A higher pension scheme will be applied by both employee and employer under mutual acceptance. This is a piece of happy news for retired employees and those who are not applied for this till now can use this opportunity to apply for the higher pension scheme.
