Gujarat Board, GSEB SSC Exams 2021 Cancelled, Class 10 students to be given mass promotion. Likely The Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GSEB) also has decided to cancel the Gujarat Board 10th Exam 2021 in the light of the current pandemic situation. Following cancellation of GSEB 10th Exam 2021, all SSC students would be given mass promotion to Class 11. Media reports have confirmed that Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani made the formal announcement about cancellation of GSEB SSC Exam 2021. The decision to cancel GSEB SSC Exam 2021 and to award mass promotion to students was taken in the core committee meeting held on 13th May 2021.
Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama was quoted saying, “All the regular students who were to appear for the exams in 1,276 government schools, 5,325 grant-in-aid schools, 4,331 self-financed schools and 45 other schools will now be mass promoted to Class 11. We have taken this decision, despite the number of corona cases coming down and rising number of recovery cases in the past two weeks, looking at the prevailing situation in the country and the safety of the students.”
Now, the government has decided to altogether cancel the board exams for Class 10 and give mass promotion to the regular students.
As per a rough estimate, around 12 lakh students of Class 10 were expected to appear or the board exams this year. A decision on holding Class 12 board exams is yet to be taken by the government. Gujarat is the first state to announce the mass promotion of class 10 students. Earlier, the state government announced a mass promotion for students of Classes 1 to 9 and class 11.
