Gujarat Board (GSHSEB) Class 12th Exams To Begin In July!!!
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) will conduct the Class 12 Board exams, announced state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama on Tuesday. The exams for both the streams – Science and General – will begin from July 1.
In the science papers, the first part will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs) while the second part will have descriptive-type questions, news agency ANI quoted Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama as saying.
“Gujarat Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board will conduct Class 12 exams as per the existing system. Exams of science & general streams will begin on July 1. Part-1 of science stream will have MCQs & descriptive writing in Part-2.
Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, only 20 students will be allowed to sit in a class. As many as 6 lakh 83 thousand students are set to appear for the exam. For GSEB students, a 100 marks exam will be conducted with multiple choice questions for 50 marks and subjective paper for 50 marks. This will be applicable for students who have opted for science stream, however, students appearing for arts stream will have to appear for a 100-marks subjective exam.
Earlier, the Central government and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ had asked states to suggest ideas to conduct the board exams this year by May 25.
The state government had earlier cancelled board exams for Class 10 students. All students will be promoted to Class 11.
A decision regarding repeaters – students who had failed in earlier attempts – will be taken after assessing the situation once COVID-19 cases drop, an official statement on Class 10 exams said. Around 12 lakh students of Class 10 were expected to take board exams this year.
Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to hold class 12 board exams from July 15 to August 26. A review meeting is expected to conducted on June 1.
