Govt. Is Likely To Hike 3-4% DA In July: The central government will give Dearness Allowance (DA) to their employees and pensioners to face inflation in the fast-growing economy. The DA will be hiked twice a year (January and July). Previously the DA was hiked by 4% from 38% to 42% and that came into effect from January 1, 2023.
According to the report, it is expected that the DA is likely to be hiked by 3-4% from July month. This is not officially announced by the department, but the report states that it would be a possibility to be like that. As per the latest data, currently, there are 47.58 lakh central government employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners who are beneficiaries of DA.
The DA is depending upon the basic pay of the employees. DA will be given to the employees and the Dearness Relief (DR) will be given to the pensioners. The government will allocate certain funds to offer the DA to all employees and employees are expecting the new DA hike announcement from the department.
