Government to developing more Playgrounds at School, and Increasing Student-Teacher Ratio.Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, stated on Thursday that the state is building more playgrounds at the school level and stadiums at the block level to educate athletes from an early age.
During an induction session for non-teaching personnel from several government colleges in the state, Patnaik made this statement. 18 physical education teachers (PETs) were among the 334 new recruits that joined the state government colleges.
The Chief Minister, speaking to the show via a virtual platform, stated that his administration has always supported sports to the best extent possible. In fact, he said, Odisha is today a shining star on the global sports map.
“Recruiting physical education teachers (PETs) would undoubtedly play a beneficial role in improving our students’ enthusiasm in sports and assist generate more national and international athletes in our state,” Patnaik added.
He believed that the PETs would make a significant contribution to giving the state’s students a bright future.
He added that several measures are being taken by the state government to create a thriving higher education ecosystem there.
More than 1,000 professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and junior lecturers have recently been hired by various government and private universities.
He noted that this has contributed to a rise in the student-to-teacher ratio at colleges.The Chief Minister welcomed the new hires and announced that junior librarians and laboratory assistants had been chosen to support high-quality education. In order to create a dynamic environment for learning in institutions, their participation in the labs and libraries is crucial, he noted.
He hoped the new college students would set an example for others by adhering to the 5T credo of the state administration, claiming that 5T is a life skill that can help everyone thrive in life.
