Last year, Google agreed to pay a $ 38 million fine to the U.S. Department of Labour for discriminating against women and people from the Asian continent. At Google’s office in California, USA, a complaint arose that gender discrimination had been observed. In the office, it was reported that men were preferred over experienced women and that there was a difference in pay. Google has been accused of paying women less than men in top positions.
The lawsuit was filed in a San Francisco court in 2017. Following the recent trial, Google has agreed to pay Rs 922 crore in compensation to 15,500 women who have worked at its Google office in California since 2013. Google also said that the office’s guidelines are in line with the sex equation. Last year, Google agreed to pay $ 38 million in fines to the U.S. Department of Labour for discriminating against women and people from the Asian continent.
