The state government planned to set up four new medical colleges in Assam. The government decided to construct these colleges in four directive regions so that state peoples in different regions can able to use the service.
Assam government said that, this is our aim to set up 24 colleges by 2027. To achieve that aim these four medical colleges will be an initiation. The Foundation stone for all these medical colleges will be laid by this month. Government plans to construct it within three years if it happens then Assam state will have a total of 5 medical colleges.
The foundation stone for one medical college hospital was laid in the Tamalpur district. Yesterday, Assam CM HimantaBiswasarma laid the foundation stone for a 200-bed hospital and medical college in the Bongaigaon region. He will lay another foundation stone for another medical college in the Morigaon district by Thursday.
