Job Description:
- Lead the software engineering for key platforms that enable customer experiences as envisioned through the Ford+ plan and delivering Always On experiences.
- While initially focused on foundational elements of the global eCommerce platform (SAP) for vehicle sales as the priority, the role would expand to include additional elements including CRM and Contact Center platforms in support of the global Marketing, Sales, and Service activity across more product offerings including accessories, merchandise, parts & service, and subscriptions.
- Ensure platforms use modern software engineering practices (i.e. TDD, CI/CD, automated deployment, etc.) and designed to support integration with existing Ford software products as well as external cloud-based services.
- Effectively collaborate with Ford’s Enterprise Architecture organization to rationalize technologies, further leverage current technology offerings already in use, and identify gaps/opportunities that will drive improvements in the technology stack supporting customer platforms.
Area of professional exposure:
- Bring commerce platform engineering expertise and experience to significantly improve Ford’s current capabilities and ensure these platforms can grow to meet increasing demands
- Establish a platform improvement roadmap that describes key areas of priority based on assessment of current capabilities and identifies key dependencies
- Identify and recommend related enterprise foundational technology capabilities and improvements or business model changes that should be pursued to improve our customer platform capability
- Establish a plan to build and improve the Ford teams that support these platforms, including rationalizing the use of external, purchased service capacity
- Contribute to Ford’s Product Driven Organization (PDO) model by identifying improvements and areas that help to reduce dependencies and increase autonomy for teams to delivery.
