Extension of Tenures of CBI, ED Chiefs by Modi Govt – Says Opposition!! The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the investigation agency of Government of India. This is considered as a main bureau of investigation in GOI. CBI does not have its own power as it derive its power from the Delhi special police establishment Act, 1946. It works against the corruption, and maintain integrity in administration. The Central Vigilance Commission handles the CBI to the prevention of corruption Act, 1988.

   The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is the intellectual bureau of economy and prevent against the economic/ financial crimes in India. Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance and India Government all of three handle the service of Enforcement Directorate (ED). Foreign Exchange Management Act in 1999 (FEMA) and Money Laundering Prevention Act in 2002 (PMLA) are two important Indian government laws which is enforced by ED.

Extending the governance of CBI and ED chief officials to 5 years which is thread by the opposite party as Dictatorial and no role for house.

The Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate chief officials governance period would get extended upto 5 years. But the opposite parties in the Lok sabha voice out against this decision and threaten third action is a kind of Dictatorial and complained that there is no role for the house in this governance extension period. the opposite party leader of Lok sabha  Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that it is against  democracy. And also he said it is an “example” for “the dictatorial attitude of the government”
