Selection Process will be based on the

  • Written Test
  • Phase II ‘Physical Aptitude Test’ Physical Ability Test

Bihar Fire Service Exam Pattern 2021:

A. Written Test:

Paper- A

50 questions

Hindi, English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs

50 questions

25 questions each in which the candidates have to choose any two subjects from the optional subjects (ie – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Political Science and Economics).

 And answering 25-25 questions related to both the selected subjects by marking the “Subject Code” in the OMR answer sheet.

b) Phase II ‘Physical Aptitude Test’ Physical Ability Test Total 100

(i) Race – 50 (Fifty) Marks.
 
  • For all categories of men – 1 (one) mile (1.6 km) [maximum in 6 minutes] up to 5 minutes- 50 marks
  • More than 5 minutes and up to 5 minutes 20 seconds- 40 marks
  • More than 5 minutes 20 seconds and up to 5 minutes 40 seconds – 30 marks
  • 5 minutes more than 40 seconds and up to 6 minutes- 20 points
The candidate who takes more than 6 minutes will be declared unsuccessful.
 
1 (one) km for all categories of women [maximum in 6 minutes] up to 15 minutes- 50 marks
 
More than 5 minutes and up to 5 minutes 20 seconds- 40 marks
 
More than 5 minutes 20 seconds and up to 5 minutes 40 seconds – 30 marks
 
5 minutes more than 40 seconds and up to 6 minutes- 20 marks
 
The candidate who takes more than 6 minutes will be declared unsuccessful.
 
(ii) Shot throw maximum 25 (twenty five points).
 
  • for all categories of men- 16 pound ball
Must throw a minimum of 16 (sixteen) feet.
  • More than 16 feet and up to 17 feet- 09
  • Above 17 ft and up to 18 ft – 13 points
  • Above 18 ft and up to 19 ft – 17 points
  • Above 19 ft and up to 20 ft – 21 points
  • over 20 feet- 25 marks
The candidate who throws less than 16 feet will be declared unsuccessful.
  • for all categories of women – 12 Pound ball
  • Must throw a minimum of 10 (ten) feet.
  • more than 10 feet and up to 11 feet – 09
  • More than 11 feet and up to 12 feet – 13
  • Above 12 feet and up to 13 feet- 17
  • Above 13 ft and up to 14 ft- 21
  • Over 14 feet- 25
A candidate who throws less than 10 feet will be declared unsuccessful.
 
(iii) High Jump – Maximum 25 (twenty five marks).
 
  • for all categories of men- Minimum height 4 (four) feet
  • Above 104 feet and up to 4 feet by 4 inches- 13 points
  • Above 104 feet 4 inches and up to 4 feet 8 inches 17 – points
  • Above 4 feet 8 inches and up to 5 feet 21- points
  • more than 04 feet- 25 marks
The candidate who does not jump 04 feet height will be declared unsuccessful. Minimum height 3 (three) feet for all categories of women
  • Above 03 feet and up to 3 feet 4 inches -13 points
  • Above 03 feet 4 inches and up to 03 feet 8 inches 17- points
  • 03 feet above 8 inches and up to 04 feet 21 -points
  • more than 04 feet – 25 marks
The candidate who does not jump 103 feet in height will be declared unsuccessful. A candidate doing each of the above three events, viz., running, shot put and high jump competition events, will be declared unsuccessful.

Bihar Fire Service Syllabus 2021:

English:

  1. Preparing Note and writing summary of a given passage
    -Identifying Central / Main Point and supporting details etc. and perceiving overall meaning and organization.
    – The texts should deal with sociopolitical and cultural issues along with the principals enshrined in the constitution.
  2. Comprehension of unseen factual / imaginative passages (Short and long question answer items)
    – Developing the skills of reasoning, drawing inferences.
  3. Reading of tales / short stories / short plays
    – Reading with understanding and imbibing virtues.
    – Bihar writers, Indian writers, Commonwealth writers and native writers of English.
  4. Reading of informative pieces / essays
    – Read with understanding and respond effectively in writing.
    – On Environment, Economics, Sports, Science, health and hygiene.
    – Adolescence, Human Values and human rights, Cultural diversity and unity, etc.
  5. Reading poems for enjoyment and understanding
    – Enjoying and understanding poems and imbibing human values and / or encountering truth.
    – World fame poets (Both native and non native poets of English), Indian Poets, Bihari Poets.
  6. Free Composition on familiar / contemporary issues
    – Communicative skills in writing
    – Notices, memorandum, formal and informal letters, application etc.
  7. Various registers of English
    – Build Communicative competences in various registers of English
    – Support with standard pieces of writing.
  8. Translation from mother tongue into English
    – Ability to translate from mother tongue into English and vice versa.
    – Wide ranging topics covering different aspects of life including great
    personalities.
  9. Grammatical items and structures:
    (a) The use of different Tense forms for different kinds of narration (e.g. media commentaries, report, programmes, etc.
    (b) Reported speech in extended text.
    (c) The use of passive forms in scientific and innovative writing.
    (d) Converting one kind of structures as well as other items to exemplify stylistic variations in different discourses.
    (e) Modal auxiliaries – Uses based on semantic considerations.
    (f) Phrases and idioms
    (g) Analysis.
    (h) Converting one kind of sentence / clause into a different kind of structures as well as other items to exemplify stylistic variations in different discourses.
    (i) Synthesis.
  10. Precis of a given passage
    – Identifying central / main point and supporting details etc. and perceiving overall meaning and organization.
    – Informative pieces on contemporary burning issues.
  11. Comprehension of unseen imaginative passages / graph / chart / table (Short
    and long question answer items)
    – Developing the skills of reasoning, drawing inferences.
    – The texts should deal with sociopolitical and cultural issues along with the principals enshrined in the constitution.
  12. Reading of tales / short stories / short plays
    – Reading with understanding and imbibing virtues.
    – Indian writers, Bihar writers, commonwealth writers, native and other nonnative writers of English.
  13. Reading of Informative Pieces / essays
    – Reading with understanding and acquiring general knowledge of practical value
