WhatsApp and Facebook’s Privacy Policy Plea Dismisses – Delhi High Court Order!!! The Competition Commission of India (CCI) had ordered an inquiry into the new privacy policy of messaging apps WhatsApp and Facebook earlier. WhatsApp and Facebook executives has filed a case in the Delhi High Court against the order.

However, the Delhi High Court Division Bench dismissed the petitions of WhatsApp and Facebook. Earlier, a bench comprising Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramaniam Prasad dismissed both the appeals filed by WhatsApp and Facebook iin the last month. During the hearing, senior advocate Mukul Rothaki, appearing for Facebook Inc, had argued that since Facebook is the rightful owner of Whatsapp, it is not necessary for the hearing to share its data with Facebook (the parent company).

Following this, the case was adjourned to July. Meanwhile, in this case which came back for hearing today, the division bench heard the petitions filed by WhatsApp and Facebook against the single bench which dismissed the petitions of Facebook and WhatsApp. Dismissing two appeals filed separately by WhatsApp and Facebook, the bench said it will not extend the ban on CCI notices to the messaging apps.
