Golden Globe Race
- Commander Abhilash Tomy of the Indian Navy, a well-known sailor, is participating in the historic Golden Globe Race (GGR), which commenced from the Les Sables d’Olonne harbour in western France.
India’s most potent missile Agni-V to be inducted soon
- India’s longest-range ballistic missile, Agni-V, will be inducted into the nuclear arsenal very soon. Agni-V is an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM) with a range of over 5,000 km and can reach most parts of China.
Indian Army Motorcycle Expedition to Commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas
- A motorcycle expedition comprising of ‘SHWET ASHW’ the elite Motorcycle Display Team of the Corps of Military Police, was flagged off’ on 02 July 2018 to commemorate the victory of Indian Army in Operation Vijay 1999.
Thai SEAL and elite foreign divers extracted the trapped boys & Coach
- All 12 boys and their football coach, who were trapped in a flooded Thailand Tham Luang cave more than a fortnight, have been rescued by the country’s Navy SEAL, completing an astonishing against-the-odds rescue mission that has captivated the world.
India, Indonesia discuss Indo-Pacific cooperation
- Indonesia has recently agreed to give India access to its port for operational turnaround which will increase the Navy’s footprint in the region.
- In a first, Indian ship INS Sumitra berthed at Sabang Port close to the Malacca Strait for operational turnaround.
Shwet Ashwa Drass Expedition
- Shwet Ashwa, the elite motorcycle display team of the Corps of Military Police, commenced a motor cycle expedition from Bengaluru to Drass on 2nd July 2018 as a tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil war.
Tall Ship Races – 2018
- INS Tarangini arrived at her seventh port, Sunderland in the UK, during her #Lokayan-18 voyage and also to participate in the prestigious ‘tall ship races – 2018’.
Successful Test Firing of Brahmos to Validate Service Life Extension
- BrahMos, the supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Balasore, Odisha.
Chief of the Naval Staff, Nigerian Navy visiting India
- Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, Chief of the Naval Staff, Nigerian Navy is visiting India from 16 to 19 July 2018 along with a four member Nigerian Navy delegation.
Republic of Singapore Navy Visits INS Teg at Djibouti
- A delegation led by the Commander Combined Task Force (CTF 151), Rear Admiral Saw Shi Tat, Republic of Singapore Navy, visited INS Teg (presently berthed at Djibouti harbour) on 16 Jul 18.
