“Eat Right India Movement”

  • Dr Harsh Vardhan launched the Eat Right India Movement of FSSAI, the new healthy eating approach which places citizens at the centre of a Health Revolution through food and fitness.The campaign ‘Eat Right India’ with its new logo and tagline ‘Sahi Bhojan. Behtar Jeevan’ were released by the Health Minister, at an event on the side-lines of the 5-day ‘72nd Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia’.

India announces 1 billion dollar line of credit for development of Russia’s Far East

  • India today announced a line of credit worth one Billion US dollars for the development of the Far East region of Russia. Addressing the Plenary Session of 5th Eastern Economic Forum, EEF, in Vladivostok this evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this announcement will prove to be a take-off point for India’s ‘Act Far East’ policy.

Japan keen to fund Indian tech start-ups: NASSCOM

  • Indian tech entrepreneurs who participated in a cross border collaboration meet, jointly organised by The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). The two-day start-up pitch session held in Tokyo was part of Nasscom’s ongoing efforts to accelerate global capital access to startups and promote technological exchanges between India and Japan.

‘Seoul Defence Dialogue 2019’

  • Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh address at the ‘Seoul Defence Dialogue 2019’ with the theme, ‘Building Peace Together: Challenges and Vision’, during his visit to Republic of Korea (ROK), Raksha Mantri said “of the numerous security challenges that the world is facing, the gravest is that of terrorism.” No country in the world is safe from terrorism and India has been actively pursuing counter terrorism cooperation bilaterally, regionally and globally through UN and other fora, he added.

Shri Prahlad Singh Patel flags off the first ever  Mobile Science Exhibition 

  • The Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent charge), Shri Prahlad Singh Patel flagged off the first ever Mobile Science Exhibition (SCIENCE EXPLORER) for the entire Ladakh Region in Leh. The Union Culture Minister simultaneously launched 25 new Mobile Science Exhibition buses for Aspirational Districts of India.

WHO South-East Asia Region plans to banish measles, rubella by 2023

  • Member-countries of the World Health Organisation (WHO) South-East Asia Region have resolved to eliminate highly infectious childhood killer diseases measles and rubella by 2023.“The new target to eliminate both the diseases will leverage the existing momentum and a strong political commitment, which is being demonstrated through unprecedented efforts, progress and successes in recent years,” said Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director, WHO South-East Asia.

  • The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu releasing the Coffee Table Book titled ‘Glorious Diaspora- Pride of India’ containing brief profiles of the recipients of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards from 2003 to 2019 in New Delhi, he said the overseas Indians must create awareness in the countries of their stay that the dilution of Article 370 was purely an internal administrative measure and aimed at accelerating the development of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.

Exercise TSENTR 2019

  • Exercise TSENTR 2019 is part of the annual series of large scale exercises that form part of the Russian Armed Forces’ annual training cycle. This year’s Exercise TSENTR 2019 will be conducted by Central Military Commission of Russia. Apart from host Russia, military contingents from China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan will also take part in this mega event.

Indo-Lanka maritime fleet exercise – SLINEX 2019 to be held from tomorrow

  • Sri Lankan Navy is sending Sindurala and Suranimala two ships to India to participate in the SLINEX 2019, the joint maritime naval exercise with the Indian Navy. The annual Joint Indo-Lanka maritime fleet exercise – SLINEX 2019 is scheduled to be held from tomorrow. The week-long exercise will be attended by 323 Sri Lankan navy personnel including the commanding flag officer of the naval fleet.

Skill India announces Annual Kaushalacharya Awards

  • A total of 53 trainers from diverse backgrounds including experts of WorldSkills Competition winners, trainers from NSTIs, ITI, JSS and trainers from reputed Corporate houses were honored at a gathering of government and industrial experts held on the occasion of Teachers’ Day by Skill India.In a bid to motivate and incentivize more trainers to join the Skill India Mission, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) today organized Kaushalacharya Samadar 2019.
