  • Union Minister of State Dr.Jitendra Singh presided over as Chief Guest at the Curtain Raiser event for the North East Expo 2019, organised in New Delhi.

  • Air India has become the first airline in the world to use a Taxibot on an A-320 aircraft with passengers on board. Taxibot is a robot-used aircraft tractor for taxiing an aircraft from parking bay to runway and vice-versa.
  • Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh have emerged as the top performing States with free secondary and tertiary treatment worth nearly Rs. 7,901 crore availed under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), the flagship health assurance scheme of the Government in just over a year.
  • The World Bank-International Monetary Fund (IMF) annual meetings kicked off owith the IMF downgrading global growth in 2019 to 3%, the slowest since the global financial crisis.
  • The Ministry of Shipping is working on a plan to develop a National Grid for Ports based on synergy between the Major and Minor ports in the country. Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, MoS (I/C) for Shipping and MoS Chemical and Fertilizers announced this while addressing the media after the 17th Meeting of Maritime States Development Council (MSDC) in New Delhi today.
  • The India Ministerial Dialogue was held at third India Energy Forum by CERAWeek in New Delhi. Minister of Petroleum &Natural Gas& Steel Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said that Energy sector will be fueling India’s journey towards the goal of a 5 trillion dollar economy.
  • Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the 41st DRDO Directors’ Conference at DRDO Bhawan in New Delhi. The Conference is an annual event, where a number of brainstorming sessions are planned over two days.
  • Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy in Ministry of Human Resources Development.
  • Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to become only the second international cricketer to be elected president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
