October 4 – World Animal Day

  • World Animal Day is celebrated across the world on 4rth October and is totally dedicated to the animals. This day celebrated the relationship between humankind and the animal kingdom and to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe.


Border Roads Organisation to use plastic to build roads along Sino-India border

  • The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has started a pilot project to build roads using plastic waste and environment-friendly technology, primarily along the Sino-India border.
  • Six roads in the States of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura have been identified for construction using waste plastic material and work on this pilot project has commenced


Kanti Velugu Scheme

  • YSR Kanti Velugu scheme is a prestigious programme of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government to take up comprehensive eye screening for entire State population, set to be launched on October 10.
  • In the first stage, children in the 5-15 age group will be covered and the remaining population in the second stage.

Andhra CM to launch Vahana Mitra

  • Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the YSR Vahana Mitra scheme at Eluru on October 4 and distribute Rs10,000 financial assistance to auto, taxi and maxi driver cum owners.
  • The Chief Minister directed the officials to deposit the money in encumbered accounts during the Spandana review meeting.


Ministry of Tourism launches Audio Guide facility App “Audio Odigos”

  • Shri Yogendra Tripathi , Secretary, Ministry of Tourism launched the Audio Guide facility Audio Odigos for 12 sites of India(including Iconic Sites).
  • Audio Odigos was lanunched for the benefit of the tourists. Audio guide odigo offers Government of India verified content, with visuals & voice over support.

PRAKASH portal for transparency and better coordination in coal supplies to power plants

  • The Union Minister Shri RK Singh and Shri Pralhad Joshi jointly launched PRAKASH (Power Rail Koyla Availability through Supply Harmony) portal
  • . The Portal aims at bringing better coordination for coal supplies among all stakeholders viz – Ministry of Power, Ministry of Coal, Coal India, Railways and power utilities. This is an important step in ensuring adequate availability and optimum utilization of coal at thermal power plants.


Indo-Mongolian Joint Exercise Nomadic Elephant 2019

  • 14th edition of Indo – Mongolian joint military training, Exercise Nomadic Elephant-XIV, being conducted over a period of 14 days, will commence from 05 Oct 2019. The exercise will be conducted from 05 Oct 19 to 18 Oct 19 at Bakloh.
  • The Mongolian Army is being represented by officers and troops of the elite 084 Air Borne Special Task Battalion while Indian Army is being represented by a contingent of a battalion of RAJPUTANA RIFLES.

Indo Maldives joint Ex Ekuverin – 19

  • Tenth edition of the Joint Military Exercise Ekuverin between the Indian Army and the Maldives National Defence Force will be organised from 07 to 20 October 2019 at Aundh Military Station in Pune, Maharashtra.
  • The Indian Army and the Maldives National Defence Forces have been conducting Exercise Ekuverin meaning ‘Friends’ in the Dhivehi language since 2009. 


53rd Asian Body Building and Physique Sports Championship 2019

  • Major Abdul Quadir Khan won Silver Medal at the prestigious 53rd Asian Body Building and Physique Sports Championship held at Batam, Indonesia on 02 Oct 19.
