November 21 World Television Day:

  • The reason for celebrating this day is to make people aware of the importance of television.
  • This year’s World Television Day was celebrated on November 21st.

 History of Television:

  • Frances Orth Philo Styler from the United States is the creator of the world’s first electronic television set.
  • In 1924 an engineer named John Loki designed a television that could show the movement of an object.
  • Televisions to show human faces were designed in the 1925’s. The first television meeting of the United Nations was held on November 21 and 22, 1996.

Announcement of India’s purity cities:

  • The list of cleanest cities for 2021 has been published. Indore in Madhya Pradesh has been selected as a purest city of India for the 5th consecutive time.
  • The Swachh Survechan project, the most important project of the Central Government, identifies the cleanest cities in the country and presents awards every year.
  • According to this state wise consideration, Chandigarh is in the first place, Maharashtra is in the second place and Madhya Pradesh is in the second place.
  • The awards were presented by our President Ramnath Govind.

  • Second place- Surat ( Gujarat )
  • Third Place- Vijayawada( Andhra )
  • Fourth place- Navi Mumbai
  • Fifth place- New Delhi

AB de Villiers has announced his retirement:

  • AB de Villiers, former captain of the South African team, has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
  • It is noteworthy that he has already retired from international competitions in 2018. He played for Bangalore since 2008 in IPL matches in India.

About Him:

  • AB de Villiers was born on February 17, 1984. He also has the nickname Mr. 360.
  • He holds the record for the fastest 50,100,150 runs scored by a South African in international cricket. In addition; he has scored over 8000 runs in international matches so far.

India rejoined UNESCO Executive Committee:

  • India reunites with 164 votes on UNESCO’s Board of Directors for 2021-2025. A total of 58 member states are expected to participate in the event.
  • India, Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, the Cook Islands and China have also been selected in Group IV for Asia and the Pacific.

  • This Executive Committee handles the overall administration of UNESCO. It also determines UNESCO’s work and monitors it.

Domestically built warship:

  • 15B acts as an important project of the Federal Department of Defense. According to the plan, four sophisticated warships will be manufactured and handed over to the Indian Navy.
  • The first warship was completed at the shipyard in Mumbai, subjected to various tests and handed over to the Navy.The ship is named “INS Visakhapatnam”.

Information about INS Visakhapatnam:

  • This ship weighs about 7,400 tons.
  • It is capable of targeting missiles.

Guinness record for concert:

  • The Guinness Book of World Records event for the most concerts in the world was held in Venezuela.
  • 8573 musicians performed this feat together. The group is called as “L Sistema”, ranged in age from 12 to 77 years.
  • The hit was recorded for 5 minutes following the song “Slavonic March”.
