Writer GitanjaliSree’s translated Hindi novel “Tomb of Sand” has been nominated for an International Booker Prize.
It was the first Hindi language fiction to make the long list of prestigious literary prizes published in London.
It is one of the 13 longest listed books. Fiction works translated into English from 11 languages and originated in 12 countries on four continents.
The book was originally published under the title ‘Red Tomb’ and has been translated into English by Daisy Rockwell.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has organized a “Young Scientist Program (Yuvika)” or “Young Scientist Program” for school children.

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has released a report on the trends in international arms trade in 2021.
According to the report, India and Saudi Arabia have emerged as the largest arms importers between 2017-21.
The two countries account for 11% of world arms sales. Egypt (5.7%), Australia (5.4%) and China (4.8%) are the next three largest importers in the top 5, respectively.
