India to train 1800 Bangladeshi Civil Servants at Mussoorie
- Eighteen hundred Bangladeshi mid-career civil servants will be trained at the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) in Mussoorie between 2019-2025. The Bangladeshi civil servants are being trained at the National Centre for Good Governance based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in February this year in the Fifth meeting of the India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission (JCC).
World’s largest burn and plastic surgery institute
- The world’s largest burn and plastic surgery institute in Bangladesh’s Dhaka started functioning. Named Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, the 500-bed hospital with 50 ICU and 12 operation theatres will provide advanced treatment to burn patients in Bangladesh.

New Space India Ltd. incorporated as a new commercial arm of D/o Space
- Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman said that a Public Sector Enterprise viz. New Space India Limited (NSIL) has been incorporated as a new commercial arm of Department of Space to tap the benefits of the Research & Development carried out by ISRO. The Company will spearhead commercialization of various space products including production of launch vehicles, transfer to technologies and marketing of space products.

Budget lays emphasis on overall development of the economy
- The Union budget 2019-20 has been presented in Parliament keeping in mind with a 10-year vision and five year target for every sector. The budget has focussed on rural initiatives and making urban living better. She said, the proposal of 70 thousand crore rupees capital investment in Public Sector banks will help them making lending easy. She said, Non Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) are a critical component of Indian banking system and the Government has adopted a comprehensive approach for NBFC financing.

Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana
- The Finance Minister further said that fishing and fishermen communities are closely aligned with farming and are crucial to rural India. Through a focused Scheme – the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) – the Department of Fisheries will establish a robust fisheries management framework. This will address critical gaps in strengthening the value chain, including infrastructure, modernization, traceability, production, productivity, post-harvest management, and quality control.

Interim CBI chief shifted to Fire Services
- Nageswar Rao, who had replaced CBI Director Alok Verma last year as an interim chief, has been appointed as Director General, Fire Services, Civil Services and Home Guards.

Kargil Tribute Song
- As the nation celebrates the 20th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas this year on 26 July, a grand ceremony was organised at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, in which Gen Bipin Rawat, Chief of the Army Staff released Kargil Tribute Song to honour, salute and pay homage to the Kargil martyrs and war veterans.
- The song, a tribute to the soldiers has been composed by Mr Sammer Anjaan, eminent hindi lyricist and sung by Mr Shatadru Kabir. The music has been composed by Mr Raju Singh.

Archery World Cup Stage IV
- In Archery, the recurve mixed duo of Atul Verma and Laishram Bombayla Devi made the bronze play-off in Berlin to brighten India’s medal prospects. Ranked fifth in the qualifications, the Indian pair lost to top seeds Korea 2-6 in the semifinals to set up a bronze medal clash with seventh seed Italy.
