SCO: 19th Meeting of Council of Heads of Government held:

  • The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) also known as the Shanghai Pact,is an Eurasian political, economic, and security alliance.
  • The SCO currently comprises eight Member States (China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan).
  • On November 30, 2020, M. Venkaiah Naidu chaired the SCO Council of Heads of Government.
  • During the meet he launched the first ever SCO Online Exhibition on Shared Buddhist Heritage.
  • It was launched during the 19th Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.
  • INDIA joined SCO in 2007

‘Duare Sarkar’ Outreach Programme of West Bengal begins:

  • The Mamata Banerjee government in Bengal has launched a massive outreach programme named “Duare Sarkar” or Government at your doorstep.
  • The programme aims to reach the government services and schemes to the people

Lahore is world’s most polluted city: 

  • According to the US Air Quality Index, Lahore is world’s most polluted city.
  • It was followed by New Delhi and Kathmandu.
  • The particulate matter (PM) rating of Lahore was 423, New Delhi had PM of 229 while Nepal’s capital Kathmandu had 178.

  World AIDS Day 2021 Celebrates on 01st December:

  • The day was first marked in 1988 and was also the first-ever international day for global health.
  • Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a chronic disease that is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

BSF celebrates 57th Raising Day on December 01, 2021:

  • The Border Security Force (BSF) is celebrating its 57th Raising Day on 01 December 2021.
  • It is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of the Union of India and stands as the world’s largest border guarding force.
  • BSF has been termed as the First Line of Defence of Indian Territories.
  • BSF Director General: Pankaj Kumar Singh.
  • BSF Headquarters: New Delhi.
  • BSF was formed on December 1, 1965

Judges Bill introduced in Lok Sabha: 

  • The Judges Bill was introduced by The Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju in Lok Sabha.
  • The bill intends to amend the High Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act and Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Condition of Service) Act.
  • The bill seeks to bring clarity whether the SC and HC judges are entitled to get additional pension on attaining a certain age.
  • Currently, every retired judge or his family (after his death) is entitled to get an additional quantum of pension.
  • The bill says that the pension shall be provided on the first day of completing the age and not in the starting.
  • For this, Section 17B and Section 16B are to be included.
  • The salaries of SC judges are fixed based on Article 125.

GST Collections November 2021:

  • The GST revenue for the month of November 2021 was Rs 1,31,526 crores.
  • This is the second highest collection since the introduction of GST in the country. The first highest collection was in April 2021.
  • The high GST collection shows that country is line with economic recovery.
  • The GST revenue collected for the month of November is 25% higher than the GST revenue of November 2020. And is 27% higher
  • than GST revenue collected in November 2019.

India – ITU Joint Cyber Drill 2021:

  • The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Department of Telecommunications operating under the Ministry of Communications
  • conducted a Joint Cyber Drill 2021.
  • The cyber drill was conducted for the Critical Network Infrastructure operators of India. The Critical Network Infrastructure are the systems, assets
  • and networks that are essential to ensure the security of a country.
  • It aims to improve the cyber security readiness of India. Also, it aims to improve the protection and incident response capability of the country.

Vidya Deevena Scheme of Andhra Pradesh:

  • The Andhra Pradesh Government recently released Rs 686 crores for the Vidya Deevena Scheme.
  • The Vidya Deevena Scheme provides scholarships to students who are not able to pay their college fees.

Char Dham Devasthanam Management Act:

  • The Uttarakhand Government recently withdrew the Char Dham Devasthanam Management Act.
  • The act was withdrawn due to the protests from priests and other stakeholders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the major shrines.
  • Most of the provisions of Shri Badrinath – Shri Kedarnath Act, 1939 were not relevant to the present context.
  • Thus, the Char Dham Bill was proposed.
