- Venkaiah Naidu presented the Musical Drama Academy Fellowship and Musical Drama Awards for the year 2018:

- The first Hindi novel to be nominated for an International Booker Prize is ‘Tomb of Sand’:
In the history of the International Booker Prize, the novel ‘Tomb of Sand’ by Gitanjali Sri is the first Hindi language fiction work to be nominated for the prestigious Literary Prize.
The novel has been translated into English by Daisy Rockwell. The Tomb of Sand book is in competition with five other novels from around the world.
