National News

Anurag Singh Thakur to launch nationwide month-long Clean India 2.0 Programme

  • The Department of Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur to launch a month-long nationwide Clean India 2.0 from 1st -31st October, 2022.
  • The programme is being organised in all the villages across the country through the network of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), affiliated Youth Clubs & National Service Scheme Affiliated Institutions.
  • This program aims to clean waste, mainly single-use plastic and create awareness.
  • The Secretary further informed that after the success of last year’s Clean India drive, this year 1 crore kg of waste (plastic, e-waste, and other waste) will be collected and disposed of with the support and voluntary participation of citizens. Hotspots for waste collection will be tourist sites, educational institutes, bus and railroad stations, and the surrounding area, national highways, historical and heritage buildings,etc.

Target to reduce air pollution by 40% in 131 cities!!!

  • By 2026, the National Clean Air Program has been implemented and targets to reduce air pollution by 40% in 131 cities.
  • Also, air pollution in 95 cities out of 131 selected cities under the National Clean Air Program has reduced in 2021 as compared to 2017.
  • In 20 cities including Chennai, Madurai, Nashik, the air pollution level has decreased to an average of (Particulate Matter)PM-10.
  • Therefore, according to the Ministry of Environment. under the National Clean Air Programme, a target has been set to reduce air pollution by 40% by 2026.

Jayanti Patnaik passes away

  • Former MP, first Chairperson of National Commission for Women Jayanti Patnaik passes away
  • She was born in 1932 at Aska, Ganjam district of Orissa.
  • She married Janaki Ballabh Patnaik in 1953, who is the former Chief Minister of Odisha.
  • Jayanti Patnaik was an Indian Parliamentarian and renowned social worker.
  • She was the first Chairperson of the National Commission for Women.

CSIR-NIScPR celebrates 81st Foundation Day of CSIR.

  • Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) was set up on 26 September 1942. This year, one of India’s largest R&D organizations celebrates its 81st Foundation Day.
  • On this occasion, NIScPR and various institutional facilities, NIScPR Director, Prof. Ranjana Aggarwal addressed the students and inspired them for a bright future.
  • The Student-Scientist Linkage Session, CSIR-NIScPR Principal Scientist Dr. G. Mahesh delivered a special lecture.
  • During the open day, exhibition of NIScPR publications, Ayur Vadika and visit to RHMD were other special attractions for the visiting students.
  • A CSIR-NIScPR book focusing on forms of science communication literature was also released during the Institute Day celebrations.

Prime Minister will inaugurate the 36th National Games at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad

  • Prime Minister Modi is leaving for Gujarat today on a two-days visit.
  • He Inaugurate projects worth Rs.3,400 crore in Surat city and lay foundation stone for new projects.
  • Laying foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs.5,200 crore in Bhavnagar.
  • PM inaugurates 36th National Games at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
  • 7000 sportsmen and women are going to participate in these matches which will be held in 6 cities in Gujarat
  • Later in the morning, PM Modi will inaugurate the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express train service.

Chief Minister’s ‘Research Scheme’!!!

  • The Government of Tamil Nadu had announced the Chief Minister’s ‘Research Scheme’ to select youths and develop their skills to help the Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • According to this, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to provide training to the youth on professional and academic basis for two years with incentive pay.
  • It has been informed that the selected youth will be involved in the implementation of the main projects of the Chief Minister’s Office, Tamil Nadu Government.
  • The Government of Tamil Nadu has informed that 30 youth will be selected and trained for this revision program of the Chief Minister and 5.66 crore rupees will be allocated for this project.
  • It has been announced that the youth who want to get training under this scheme and take up government jobs can submit their applications from today. It has been informed that the youth can apply for this on the website http://www.bim.edu/Tncmpf.

Marriage certificate correction facility has been introduced on website !!!

  • Marriages are registered and certificate issued under Marriage Registration Acts.
  • Marriage certificate is issued based on the details given in the applications submitted for marriage registration.
  • But later Chief Minister Stalin announced the facility to get a corrected marriage registration certificate by applying through the website https://tnreginet.gov.in if correction is needed in names, address etc.
  • Thus, the applicant can download the e- certificate with the electronic signature of the registration officer in online at the desired time.

Inauguration of Rehabilitation Annex Building and Swami Vivekananda Statue and Therapy Park:

  • Presided over by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Cabinet Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and in the presence of Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar. On September 30, 2022, the Government of Odisha unveiled plans for a Swami Vivekananda Therapeutic Park in Cuttack.
  • Member of Parliament of India Shri JP Natta will continue to provide assistance to the differently abled.
  • These facilities include overhead storage tanks, bypass road for fire engines, fire alarm and fire fighting systems, 250 KVA substation and 125 KVA DG set
  • The existing hospital extension named “Rehabilitation Link Building” will greatly help disabled people who struggle to get an indoor bed.
  • The number of surgeries to correct defects will increase. The number and quality of treatment services will improve.

Justice M Duraisamy appointed as post of Chairman of Real Estate Appellate Tribunal!!!

  • Justice M. Duraisamy, who recently retired as the in-charge judge of the Madras High Court, has assumed the post of chairman of the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal.
  • The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, brought by the Central Government in 2016, was implemented in the state of Tamil Nadu in 2017 with amended provisions. Based on that, the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Commission and the Tamil Nadu Appellate Tribunal were formed.
  • Further, the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Appellate Tribunal has also been created to appeal against the decision of the Estates Commission, and the Union Territories of Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar can also appeal to it.
  • Earlier cases related to real estate were tried in Consumer Grievance Forums but now those cases are being transferred to Real Estate Commission.

Senior advocate R.Venkataramani was appointed as the new Attorney General!!!

  • Senior Advocate R. Venkataramani has been appointed as the Chief Advocate (Attorney General) of the Central Government.
  • Venkataramani will continue as the Chief Advocate of the Central Government for the next three years after KK Venugopal as the 15th Chief Advocate, according to the Union Law Ministry.
  • Following this, the central government has announced that Mr. Venkataramani from Tamil Nadu has been appointed.

Anil Chauhan has been appointed as the Commander-in-Chief of India’s Tri-Army!!!

  • Lt Gen Anil Chauhan has been appointed to replace Bipin Rawat, the former Chief of Army Staff who died in a helicopter crash.
  • India has separate Commanders for Army, Air Force and Navy. In this case, the role of Commander-in-Chief of the Tri-Army was created to coordinate the military operations of the three armies.
  • The Commander in Chief has a very important role in the security of the country.
