New coin with king Charles image was released by royal mint

  • The Royal Mint has issued the first coins to feature the portrait of Britain’s new King Charles III since the Queen’s death.
  • It has been announced that the public will use the new King Charles III’s coins from December.
  • These coins are personally endorsed by King Charles and printed on the coin as CHARLES III • D • G • REX • ​​F • D • 5 POUNDS • 2022.
  • It is also reported that the new £5 coin and 50p coin will feature the Queen’s portrait to commemorate Queen Elizabeth.

World’s first electric passenger aircraft

  • The world’s first all-electric passenger aircraft has successfully taken to the sky.
  • The plane flew for 8 minutes at an altitude of 3,500 feet in the air from Washington’s Grand County International Airport.
  • Named Alice, the aircraft is manufactured by Israel-based Aviation Corporation.

Government Planned to collect customs tax  through GPS

  • “Fast tag” scheme was implemented to prevent waiting of vehicles to pay toll.
  • Presently the “Fast tag” scheme has failed due to the continues waiting of vehicles.Hence tax collection through GPS system is planned to prevent waiting of vehicles.
  • Through this GPS system the vehicles are identified by the GPS device when they cross the toll booths and the tax is deducted from the bank accounts.
  • The National Highways Authority plans to implement GPS-based toll collection scheme on a trial basis from January 2023

National Film Awards 2022

  • National Film awards are given annually by the central government in various categories including best film, actor, actress,Music directors etc .
  • According to that, the National Awards for the films released in 2020 have been announced
  • Films Soorarai potru, Mandela, Sivaranjani matrum sila pengal in Tamil have won a totally 10 awards.
  • Tamil films topped the 68th National Awards list winning a total of 10 awards. After that, Malayalam and Marathi language films won 6 awards each and took second place in the list.

Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) launches Telecom Technology Development Fund Program!!!

  • The Telecommunication Technology Development Fund (TTDF) aims to finance R&D in rural-specific telecommunication technology applications.
  • Under this program, USOF aims to develop standards to meet nationwide requirements and create an ecosystem for research, design, prototyping, use cases, and proof of concept testing.
  • The program provides grants to Indian companies to promote and absorb indigenous technologies designed to meet domestic needs.

Helicopter taxi to be introduced in Bangalore soon

  • A helicopter service facility is soon to be implemented in Bengaluru to reduce traffic congestion.
  • In the first phase, from October 10, the flights will be operated between Bengaluru International Airport and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Airport on weekdays.
  • The service will be provided at a cost of Rs.3250 for one trip.

 Rameswaram Municipality Awarded as Best Cleanliness City in Tamil Nadu

  • Clean India Urban Movement 2.0 project has launched by the Prime Minister with the objective of creating cities without garbage.
  • The cleanest cities have been selected under this scheme.
  • Rameswaram Municipality received a special award in the Sanitation Awards in cities with a population of 25,000 to 50,000.
  • The award ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on 29th September, 30th and 1st October at Talkadora Ground, Delhi.

Ketanji Brown Jackson Inaugurated As First Black Woman justice  On US Supreme Court

  • Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first black female justice to sit on the US Supreme Court, was sworn in at a ceremony in Washington on Friday, September 30, 2022.
  • He replaces retired Justice Stephen Breyer(84years).
  • In the 233-year history of the United States Supreme Court, only 5 women judges have been appointed.
  • She was the 6th first black female judge.

RBI raises the repo rate for 4th time and it Increase to 5.90%

  • The Reserve Bank has raised the repo rate for the fourth time in a row to curb rising retail inflation.
  • Repo rate is the rate of interest that the Reserve Bank lends to banks. Currently the repo rate has been raised by 50 basis points.
  • As a result, the repo rate has risen to 5.90 percent, which is unprecedented in the last three years.
  • Now that the RBI has increased the repo rate, other banks will also increase the interest on loans to customers. Due to this, the interest rate for home, vehicle and personal loans is likely to increase.

NASA plans to launch a rocket to the moon in November
