Chinese President arrives in Tibet for Arunachal Pradesh

  • Chinese President Xi Jinping toured Arunachal Pradesh’s military capital, Ningxi.
  • He is touring Tibet to mark the 70th anniversary of China’s annexation.
  • Tibet, which has been an independent state since 1912, was annexed by the Chinese Communist government 70 years ago.
  • Although China claims that the annexation is a ‘peaceful liberation of Tibet’, the Tibetan government and people in India who have migrated to India have been claiming that it is an aggression against them.

India scores 100% on transparency – UN report

  • UN Security Council calls for immediate end to hostilities According to a study conducted by the Economic and Social Commission, India has advanced with 90.32 percent marks. In the past 2019, the figure was 78.49 percent.
  • After evaluating the economies of 143 countries, the 2021 Census shows India’s progress in 5 key areas: transparency, procedures, corporate organization and cooperation, paperless trade, and transnational trade.
  • India’s overall score is higher than that of France, UK, Canada, Norway and Finland, which are members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. This is higher than the European Union average.
  • India has scored 100 percent in terms of transparency. India has a score of 66 per cent in the category of women in trade.

A rare 1400 year old statue of Lucliser has been found in Uttiramerur

  • A rare statue of Lakulisar, a 1400-year-old Pallava-based vegetarian sect, was found in the village of Kozhiyalam near Uttiramerur in Kanchipuram district.
  • Lakulam means stick, Eesam means Easwaran. It is said that Lord Shiva incarnated as the 28th incarnation in human form to spread vegetarianism with a stick.

Akash missile

  • The Military Research and Development Center (DRDO) has successfully tested the Akash missile for the second time in three days.
  •  The new generation Akash missile was successfully tested at an integrated test site off the coast of Chandipur, Odisha.
  •  The missile accurately intercepted and destroyed an unmanned aircraft sent at high speed in the sky. Its functions were evaluated by radar, electro-optical surveillance equipment, and control communication devices.
  • The experiment was conducted even in bad weather. This proves that the missile can operate successfully in all weather conditions.

Btu India is the world’s first space-based digital currency exchange for ultra-secure transactions.

  • PTU India has partnered with Spatchain to successfully launch its digital security infrastructure on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket under the RightShare project.
  • Bitcoin marks Bitcoin as the world’s first cryptocurrency exchange to enhance the high security of space-quality infrastructure for highly secure bitcoin cryptocurrency transactions and to back up its public satellite key at a space point.

Tokyo Olympics

  • The 32nd Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo, Japan from July 23 to August 8.
  • King Niruhido of Japan announces the official start of the Olympics. This is the 3rd time that a member of the Japanese royal family has started the Olympics.

Opening Ceremony

  • ‘Moving forward together’ was the essence of the opening show.
  • 204 national teams marched with their national flags as the highlight of the opening ceremony.
  • Greece, the home country of the Olympics, was the first team to carry their national flag.
  • India ranked 21st in this list. A team of 19 people from the Indian side participated in the inaugural parade.
  • 6 6-time world boxing champion Maricom and men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh carried the national flag on behalf of the Indian team.
  • They were accompanied by Tamil Nadu Swordsman Bhavani Devi and 6 officers.

Pledge

  • Japan players Yamagata Riota and Ishikawa Kasumi took the pledge for the match.
  • A minute of silence was observed during the opening ceremony in memory of the Israeli athletes killed by Palestinian militants at the 1972 Munich Olympics. The event took place for the first time in 49 years.

Olympic Torch

  • For the first time in Olympic history, hydrogen will be used as fuel for the Olympic torch lit at the Tokyo Olympics.
  • Propane, magnesium and ammunition were used to keep the Olympic torch lit during the previous Olympics.
  • But during the use of these fuels carbon dioxide was produced in large quantities and polluted the environment. Currently the Olympic torch is said to be environmentally friendly as hydrogen is used as the fuel for the torch at the Tokyo Olympics.
  • The vessel for the Tokyo Olympic torch was designed by Canadian designer Oki Sato as a flower unfolds from a bud.

  • India beat New Zealand 2-3 in men’s hockey at the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
