Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi to be appointed as the Attorney General for India

  • Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi is to be appointed as the 14th Attorney General for India after KK Venugopal vacates the post.
  • Venugopal tenure was extended for a period of three months, this extension expires on September 30.
  • Following this Mukul Rohatgi will take a seat as the country’s top law officer from 1at October.
  • This was Mukul Rohatgi second time as an Attorney General.

Mansukh Mandaviya to launch Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav portal

  • Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to launch Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav portal, which is a countrywide mega drive for voluntary blood donation from 17th September to 1st October this year.
  • This was the special drive is a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
  • October 1 is set to be observed as the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, following this registrations for the Voluntary Blood Donation has began on the Raktkosh portal and Aarogya Setu app.

The first test spacecraft of gaganyaan project will be launched in this year!!!

  • Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that the first test spacecraft will be launched this year as part of the Gaganyaan program to send humans into space.
  • the project was being delayed due to the corona virus Astronauts who were also undergoing training in Russia and India are affected by corona virus ,
  • It will be followed next year by the female robot named “Vyom Mitra”, which is being developed for the Gaganyaan project, which aims to send humans into low-Earth orbit by Indian spacecraft and bring them back safely.
  • Also, India has identified 4 pilots for implementation of gaganyaan project and they have been given basic training in Russia.

36th Tri-Army Commanders Conference – South held at Port Blair!!!

  • 36th Tri-Service Commanders Conference (TSCC) – held at Port Blair South on 12th and 13th September 2022 under Andaman and Nicobar Command.
  • The two-day conference was hosted by Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command Lt. Gen. Ajay Singh.
  • GOC- In -C, Southern Command Lt Gen JS Nain; FOC – in-c, Western Naval Command V Adm Ajendra Bahadur Singh; FOC – in –c , Southern Naval Command V Adm MA Hambiholi; AOC-in-C, Southern Air Command Air MSL J. Chalapati and Commander-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command V ATM Sanjay Vatsayan attended the conference.
  • The senior leadership deliberated on various aspects related to geostrategic posture and infrastructure development in the Indian Ocean region, coordinated the activities of the tri-services regional command and ways to enhance tri-force training and readiness of all components.
  • The conference aims to consolidate the collective strengths and capabilities of India’s maritime service and combined-service commands. It focuses on addressing contemporary security paradigms while seeking ways to improve combat capability and make operations more effective and efficient.

Manipur takes various activities to attract public while celebrating Poshan Maah!!!

  • The Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating the fifth Rashtriya Poshan Maah from September 1, 2022 to September 30, 2022.
  • It is part of the National Potion Abhiyan program, aimed at strengthening efforts to end hunger and malnutrition.
  • To celebrate Boshan Maah under Boshan Abhiyan, grassroots local bodies have taken various measures to attract public.
  • Following this Manipur State Social Welfare Department Director Nangom Uttam, Social Welfare Department in collaboration with various departments and district administration is spreading awareness to improve the nutritional status of the targeted stakeholders.
  • Anganwadi workers and helpers will be provided kitchen garden, fish pond etc. at identified places in the school premises and their necessary assistance will be provided by the concerned department if required.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh has launched White Paper highlighting ‘Urban Wastewater Scenario in India’

  • Denmark along with the Indian Delegation has launched White Paper highlighting ‘Urban Wastewater Scenario in India’ at IWA World Water Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.
  • To developed a White Paper highlighting ‘Urban Wastewater Scenario in India’ a government of India interdisciplinary team was formed with partners Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, National Mission for Clean Ganga, international agency Innovation Centre Denmark, and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
  • This White Paper is focused on green hydrogen, renewable energy and wastewater management between India and Denmark.

William Rudo sworn in as President of Kenya!!!

  • He won the presidential election in the East African country of Kenya on August 9 with 50.5 percent of the votes.
  • He won the election against opposition candidate Raila Odinga. Raila’s appeal against this in the Supreme Court of Kenya was dismissed last week.
  • Following this, Ruto was sworn in as the 5th President of Kenya yesterday. William Ruto succeeded Uhuru Kenyatta who was President for some time after the death of the former President of Kenya, Mwai Kibaki.
  • Rigadi Kachagwa is now the Vice President of Kenya.

The President has approved the renaming of the capital of Kazakhstan to Astana!!!

  • Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Togayev has approved renaming the capital to Astana, after the country’s former longtime leader, President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
  • The Central Asian country’s tallest building city was renamed Nur-Sultan in March 2019 in honor of resigned President Nazarbayev.
  • Dictatorship leader Nazarbayev has ruled the former Soviet republic since 1991,
  • An amendment to reinstate the capital’s previous name was included in the lawmakers’ draft law “with the approval of the President”.
  • “At the same time, the president sees the decisive role of Nursultan Nazarbayev in strengthening the modern state of Kazakhstan, and the establishment of the capital is a historical fact,” Sheldibai said.
  • “Therefore, other landmarks named after the first president will bear their names,” he said. He also agreed to change the country’s capital to Astana.

Index Numbers of Wholesale Price in India in the month of August 2022

  • For the month of August 2022 annual rate of inflation based on India’s Wholesale Price Index (WIP) number is 12.41%.
  • The inflation has raised by the prices of mineral oils, food articles, crude petroleum & natural gas, basic metals, chemicals & chemical products, electricity, food products etc.

 US inflation rises to 8.3% in the month of August

  • The data released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, inflation rose 8.3% in the month of August.
  • The consumer price index increased to 8.3%.
  • Excluding volatile food and gas prices, inflation climbed 6.3%
  • The energy index rose 23.8%, motor vehicle maintenance and repair up 1.7%.
  • Health insurance, up 2.4%, food at home prices increased 13.5%, and food away from home increased 8%.

Hindi Diwas Day

  • Every year Hindi Diwas or Hindi day is observed on September 14.
  • This day marks Hindi as the official language of India.
  • The first Hindi Diwas day was observed on 1953 and the Hindi language is adopted under the Indian Constitution Article 343.
  • India’s First Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru declared September 14 as a Hindi Diwas.

The government of India announced the celebration of “Hyderabad Liberation Day” on 3rd September!!!

  • On September 3, the Government of India announced that Hyderabad Independence Day will be commemorated year-round from September 17, 2022.
  • In an official press release, the Ministry of Culture said that Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the programme.
  • Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Telangana and Karnataka have been invited to this event.
  • The festival is celebrated this year as a tribute to all those who sacrificed their lives for freedom in the state and for joining the Indian Union.
  • Notably, it took Hyderabad more than a year to gain independence from the Nizam’s rule after Indian independence, and on September 17, 1948, Hyderabad officially joined the Indian Union.
