CBDT unveils e-portal for filing complaints against tax evasion

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) that is a is a part of Department of Revenue in the Ministry of Finance has launched e-portal for filling to receive and process complaints of tax evasion and complaints regarding benami properties.

  • In this portal, the complainant can file complaints of violations of the Income- tax , Black Money, Imposition of Tax Act and Prevention of Benami Transactions Act in three separate forms designed for the purpose.

The 13th India-Vietnam Defence Security Dialogue was conducted virtually through an online mode. The Dialogue was co-chaired by Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar.

Arab-India Cooperation Forum held virtually

The 3rd Arab-India Cooperation Forum was conducted through video conferencing on January 12, 2021.

  • The Arab-India Cooperation Forum Meeting was co-chaired by Ambassador Mohamed Abu Al-Kheir, Assistant Foreign Minister and Permanent Representative of Egypt to the League of Arab States, and Sanjay Bhattacharyya, Secretary (CPV&OIA).

Haryana Government launches Job Portal for Job Seekers

The Haryana government has launched one time registration portal for Common Eligibility Test or CET for recruitment of Group C, D posts in various departments.

  • On this portal applicants need to submit the application by paying the requisite fee
  • The state government also announced Common eligibility test (CET) which will also be conducted by Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) for filling up different posts of Group C and D.

RBI scraps Vasantdada Nagari Sahakari Bank’s license

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the licence of Vasantdada Nagari Sahakari Bank Ltd which is headquartered in Osmanabad, Maharashtra.

  • Now the bank will not conduct the banking business, including acceptance of deposits and repayment of deposits
  • This ban was came effect from January 11, 2021.

Union Cabinet approves MoU between India and UAE to develop cooperation in science field

The Union Cabinet of India has approved the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and United Arab Emirates

  • This MoU was signed between National Centre of Meteorology of the United Arab Emirates and Ministry of Earth Sciences.
  • This MoU will facilitate exchange of scientific and technical information, deployment of Meteorological observation networks over ocean

Jammu & Kashmir Govt inks MoU with NECBDC for Bamboo Entrepreneurship

North East Cane & Bamboo Development Council (NECBDC) has signed MoU with Government of Jammu and Kashmir for Bamboo Entrepreneurship and Bamboo Infrastructure Development in J&K.

  • This MoU will facilitate bamboo production, its processing and associated business, and to develop bamboo industry into a strong industry of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • The MoU will also give market awareness to J&K Entrepreneurs and facilitating the joint exhibitions, export promotions etc.

 Henley & Partners has released the Henley Passport Index 2021. As per the Index the report was topped by Japan. India has secured 85th Spot in the Index

  • The Report was prepared based on the International Air Transport Association (IATA) data.

Hurun Global 500 List: Reliance gets 54th spot globally

As per the Hurun Global 500 List, Total 11 private Indian firms have made it to the list of most valuable companies across the world, and the country is ranked 10th on the chart, as per a report.

  • Reliance Industries leads among the local enterprises and is ranked 54th globally, as per the list.
  • Apple is the world’s most valuable company worth $2.1 trillion, followed by Microsoft and Amazon with $1.6 trillion each and Alphabet worth $ 1.2 trillion
