 ‘India Chem 2022’

  • Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, will inaugurate the India Chem 2022 on 2nd November 2022 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi with the theme “Vision 2030: Chemicals and Petrochemicals Build India”.
  • India Chem, the flagship event of the Department, is one of the largest composite events of the industry in the Asia-Pacific region. Department is organizing the 12th edition of INDIA CHEM in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

International Petroleum Exhibition

  • The International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference organized by the National Petroleum Corporation in Abu Dhabi started on October 31, 2022.
  • Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri will inaugurate the pavilion jointly organized by the Indian Petroleum Industry Association and the Indian Industry Federation at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition.

First blind black female barrister in the UK

  • A 23-year-old Jessikah Inaba studying for five years at the University of Law in London, becoming Britain’s first black female blind barrister.
  • She completed her entire course using Braille,she uses a tiny electronic machine with a Braille keyboard which has one key for each dot and a small screen where symbols pop up.

Helipads are planned to be set up district wise in Haryana

  • Haryana government plans to set up district-wise helipad facilities to deal with emergencies
  • Additionally, these helipads also have night-time landing facilities, from this Haryana will become the first state in India to have helipad facilities in every district.

 Maharashtra’s first EMC at Ranjangaon

  • The Ministry of Electronics and IT has approved the greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) with the project cost of Rs 492.85 crores to be set up in Ranjangaon Phase III, near Pune in Maharashtra.
  • The EMC at Ranjangaon, Pune will catalyze investments to the tune of over Rs. 2000 crore in the near future & generate employment for over 5,000 people, In India already have EMCs in Noida, Tirupati, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu

 PM lays the foundation stone for various development projects in Gujarat

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a 3-day visit to Gujarat, will lay foundation stones for various drinking water projects worth Rs 8000 crore at Tharad in Banaskantha.
  • Later, the Prime Minister dedicated two railway projects worth Rs 2900 crore at Asarwa in Ahmedabad to the country.

Lulu da Silva has won Brazil’s presidential election

  • The presidential election was held on October 2nd,2022 in Brazil, according to the Brazilian election procedure, the candidate running for the presidential election must get more than 50 percent of the votes.
  • The current President Jair Bolsonaro got 49.10 percent of the votes and lost in the election. Left-wing leader and former president Lulu da Silva has been re-elected as a president of Brazil with 50.90 percent of the vote. Lulu da Silva, the new president, will take office in January 2023.

Archaeological discovery

148th  inscriptions was discovered

  • Archaeologists have found an inscription of 1481th in Kudimenahalli area of Krishnagiri district.
  • Also this inscription is from Vijayanagara Empire period and it mentions the donation of Mallikai Arjun Prataba Devaraya.

Awards

Union minister special operation award 2022 – India

  • The “Union Home Minister’s Special Operation Medal” for the year 2022 have been awarded for 4 Special Operations.
  • The medal was constituted in 2018 and shall be conferred for Special Operation in the areas such as counter terrorism, border action, arms control, prevention of narcotics smuggling and rescue operations.
  • The Award is announced on 31st of October every year. In a year, normally 3 Special Operations are considered for the award.

 Rajyotsava Award 2022

  • Rajyotsava festival is celebrated on 1st November every year on the formation of Karnataka State Day, on this occasion the Government of Karnataka has announced that the Rajyotsava award will be given to those who have achieved achievements in various fields.
  • Furthermore, the Karnataka government has announced that 67 people, including former ISRO chairman Sivan and writer Mitra, will be given the Rajyotsava award.

Junior Women’s World Cup Football Tournament 2022

  • The Junior (Under 17) Women’s World Cup football tournament has been held every 2 years since 2008. According to this, the 7th Junior Women’s World Cup started in India on October 11.
  • Spain won the 16-team tournament against columbia, from this victory Spain has won the second time Junior Women’s World Cup.

 International Junior Hockey Tournament 2022

  • The 10th Sultan Johor Cup International Junior Hockey Tournament (Under 21) was held in Malaysia with 6 teams.
  • India defeated Australia in the finals & India won the title. Through this tournament, India has won the champion title for the 3rd time including 2013, 2014 and 2022.

 Super 750 Badminton Tournament 2022

  • The French Open Super 750 Badminton Tournament started on 25th October in Paris.
  • In the men’s doubles final of the series, Shadwick-Chirag beat China’s Lu Ching Yao-Yang Bo Han and won the championship.
  • With this, Sadhwik-Chirag became the first Indian pair to won the Super 750 Badminton Championship. Also, this is the 3rd title that Sadhwik-Chirag will win in an international badminton tournament.

 World Junior Badminton 2022

  • The World Junior Badminton Under-19 Championship was held in Santander, Spain. In the men’s singles final, Indian player Shankar Muthuswamy lost to Chinese Taipei’s Guo Guan Lin and won the silver medal.
  • Chennai’s Shankar Muthuswamy became the 10th Indian to won the medal in World Junior Badminton.

  • Central Vigilance Commission observes Vigilance Awareness Week during the week in which 31st October, the birthday of late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel falls.
  • This year, Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 31st October to 6th November, 2022 with the following theme “Corruption free India for a developed Nation”
