Arunachal Pradesh

Maitree Diwas

  • In Arunachal Pradesh, Maitree Diwas, a multi-cultural social event, will be organized at Tawang on November 28th and 29th.
  • It will be jointly organized by the local civil administration and the Tawang Military Garrison.

Arunachal Literature Festival

  • In Arunachal Pradesh, the first ever Arunachal Literature Festival will be held at Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre in Itanagar from November 28 to 30. The festival is being organized by the State Information and Public Relation Department.

Bihar

Bihar CM unveils 70 ft tall Lord Buddha’s statue in Rajgir

  • Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled a 70-feet tall statue of Lord Buddha at Rajgir in Nalanda district.
  • It is the second tallest statue of Buddha in the country. It is made of pink sandstone.

High-End Skill Development Centre

  • India’s premier National Research Laboratory CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (CSIR-IMTECH) announced a new partnership with Merck, a leading German science and Technology Company, to establish a ‘High End Skill Development Centre’ in CSIR-IMTECH, Chandigarh.

Nagaland Tourist Police

  • Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio launched the state Tourist Police at Police Headquarter in Kohima.
  • Nagaland becomes the second state in the North East to introduce Tourist Police.
  • Tourist Police will be deployed during Hornbill Festival of Nagaland, which starts from 1st December to give safety and security of tourists.

Logo and Brochure of Logix India

  • Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, launched the logo and brochure of Logix India 2019 in New Delhi.
  • Logix India 2019 is scheduled to take place in New Delhi from 31stJanuary to 2nd February 2019.The mega logistics event is being organized by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO).

Social Security Scheme

  • Nepal government has launched a Social Security Scheme for formal sector workers of the country.
  • The new social security scheme is contribution based and it will cover health and medical facilities, safe motherhood, accident and physical incapacity security, security to dependent family members and security at old age.
  • The scheme will be compulsorily applicable to formal sector workers. The scheme will soon be extended to informal sector workers as well.

Final vote on Brexit deal with EU

  • British Prime Minister Theresa May announced that the final vote on Brexit agreement with the European Union (EU) will be held on December 11.

Romania “strongly supports” India’s proposal in UN

  • Romania “strongly supports” India’s proposal in UN for Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT).

  • National Projects Construction Corporation Limited (NPCC) has been conferred with the status of Miniratna : Category –I by the Government of India.
  • NPCC, a schedule ‘B’ CPSE under the administrative control of Ministry of Water Resources RD & GR, has also been awarded ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

  • Indian wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav enters top-5 list of T20 bowlers for the first time in ICC rankings to claim the third position.
