New Delhi

PM to dedicate and lay foundation stone for key projects in AIIMS

  • The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will visit the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on June 29, 2018.
  • He will lay the Foundation Stone of the National Centre for Aging at AIIMS. This will provide the older population with multi-speciality healthcare. It will have 200 general ward beds.

Uttar Pradesh

  • The Prime Minister also visited the Saint Kabir Cave, and unveiled a plaque to mark the laying of Foundation Stone of Saint Kabir Academy.
  • He offered floral tributes at Sant Kabir Samadhi, on the occasion of the 500th death anniversary of the great saint and poet, Kabir.

Telangana

First government blockchain centre

  • The Centre is considering a proposal to set up a Centre of Excellence for blockchain technology in Hyderabad to drive innovation.

Tamilnadu

T.N. to soon launch networked CT, MRI machines in govt. hospitals

  • Tamil Nadu will become the first State in the country to virtually connect 58 computed tomography(CT) and 18 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines located in different government hospitals in the State.

Kerala

Sabarimala chosen as Swacch Iconic Place

  • The Union government has selected Sabarimala as a Swachh Iconic Place as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Sabarimala is the only place from Kerala selected for implementation in the third and last phase of the project.

Police app to monitor truant schoolchildren

  • The Alappuzha police are all set to launch an application to keep a tab on schoolchildren in the district.
  • The app is being introduced as part of a project titled ‘Kid Safe,’ mooted to ensure the safety of schoolchildren.

Karnataka

Mysuru-Rewa train service introduced

  • The Railways has decided to run four trip services of Train No. 06229/06230 Mysuru-Rewa Mysuru Weekly Special Express for long distance passengers.

Adani Ports acquires Kattupalli Port

  • The country’s largest port developer Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has executed a share purchase agreement with Larsen and Toubro Ltd. (L&T) to acquire 97% stake in Marine Infrastructure Developers Pvt. Ltd. (MIDPL), the developer and operator of Kattupalli Port near Chennai, for Rs.1,950 crore.

  • The 28th meeting of the GST Council will be held in New Delhi on the 21st of July, 2018.

Indian, Indonesian navies participate in Passage exercise

  • The navies of India (Indian Naval ships INS Shakti and INS Kamorta) and Indonesia participated in Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the Port of Makassar, Indonesia.

Military Engineer Services (MES) Website

  • Military Engineer Services (MES), which is the dedicated Engineering Department to provide infrastructure (development and maintenance) support to Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and DRDO, launched its newly designed website on 28 June 2018. The website was launched by Defence Secretary Shri Sanjay Mitra.

ISSF Junior World Cup Suhl, Germany

  • It was a golden harvest for Indian shooting as it swept the mixed air pistol, mixed air rifle and the standard pistol gold medals to go on top of the medals table in the Junior World Cup.
