‘Paani Bachao, Paise Kamao’ campaign launched

  • A campaign was launched to encourage farmers to voluntarily adopt a new scheme ‘Paani Bachao, Paise Kamao’, aimed at checking depletion of underground water in Punjab villages – Bambiwal and Nawajipur, initially.

‘No toilet, no bride’ resolution

  • Haryana, Godikan village panchayat passes ‘No toilet, no bride’ resolution; inspired by Akshay Kumar movie ‘Toilet-Ek Prem Katha’.

Odisha

Water Aerodrome in Chilika Lake

  • The Airports Authority of India has proposed to set up a water aerodrome in Chilika Lake for starting amphibious aircraft operations in Odisha.

Inauguration of Halegannada Sahitya Sammelana

  • The first All India Halegannada Sahitya Sammelana was inaugurated by taking out a procession of Pampa’s work Adi Purana on a silver palanquin and placing it on the dais at Shravanabelgola.

Oil India again discovers hydrocarbon in KG Basin

  • Oil India Limited (OIL), one of India’s largest public sector oil exploration and production companies, has made its second hydrocarbon discovery in the onland KG Basin NELP VI Block.
  • The well Thanelanka-1 is the first high pressure-high temperature (HP-HT) well drilled by OIL.

AIIB to invest $200 million into an NIIF fund of funds

  • The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is likely to invest USD 200 million in a fund of funds set up by India to take interest in infra projects .

MoU between Ministry of Health & Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

  • Ministry of Health and Family Welfare signed an MoU with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to scale up the short term healthcare courses. To make available 14.4 lakh trained manpower by 2025.

Saudi ARAMCO and ADNOC sign MoU

  • Saudi Aramco and ADNOC signed an MoU to jointly develop and build an integrated refinery and petrochemicals complex at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra. The project will be implemented by Ratnagiri Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd. (RRPCL).

15th Session of the India-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission

  • Minister for Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation of India, Suresh Prabhu co-chaired the 15th Session of the India-Australia Joint Ministerial Commission with the Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment in Canberra.

Group of Eminent Personalities first meeting

  • The group of eminent personalities constituted by the Government of India to study the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Policy of India held its first meeting on 22nd June under the aegis of Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu.

Environment Ministry meeting to deal with air pollution incidents

  • A meeting with expert institutions was held in the Environment Ministry to discuss application of advanced technologies to deal with air pollution incidents and improve the overall air quality management framework.

Anti-doping sports conference

  • An anti-doping sports conference titled Clean Sport=Fair Outcome?’ was held at Oslo to address the issue of doping menace.
  • The conference is a joint initiative of the World Forum for Ethics in Business (WFEB), Anti-Doping Norway and Fair Sport.

  • The 4th National Review and Consultation on Swachh Iconic Places has begun in Hyderabad to review the progress relating to maintenance and cleanliness of Iconic Places.

35th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee

  • Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has approved the construction of 3,18,900 more affordable houses for the benefit of urban poor under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in 6 States/UTs.

  • The Government proposes to set up 3000 Van Dhan Kendras involving 30,000 SHGs across the country under the Van Dhan Scheme of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
