Union Education Minister DharmendraPradhan announced on Thursday that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) would not be required for admission to undergraduate programmes in institutes affiliated with the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya. Pradhan wrote to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, explaining that the exemption was granted for this school year due to geographic challenges, remote places, and insufficient digital access and infrastructure.
