Meanwhile, reports suggest that a total of 4.23 lakh Indian migrant workers have returned from ECR countries during the Corona period from June 2020 to December 2021.
More than, half of them have returned from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, the central government said. About this the Minister of State for External Affairs V.Muralitharan in a written reply in Parliament said that, the number of Indian migrant workers who returned from ECR countries from June 2020 to December 2021 was 4,23,559. Out of this, 1,52,126 people have returned from the United Arab Emirates,1,18,064 people from Saudi Arabia, 51,206 from Kuwait, 46,003 people from Oman and 32,361 from Qatar.

Meanwhile, about 1,41,172 people from India have gone to six Gulf countries namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates for work after the pandemic. In between the COVID-19 pandemic The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation has recovered the people those who stuck in ECR countries through Vande Bharat Missions (VBM), the Center Minister quoted. And, the covid situation decreases in India, people come back to the new normal. Considering this a large number of Indian workers, particularly in the Gulf countries have the openness to travel from India, the Ministry said.
